ANTIQUES, ART & COLLECTIBLES MALL

History

When we opened Antiques, Art & Collectibles Mall 16 years ago, our concept to create a “store within a store” was a dream. But, persistence paid off. We now have over 70 vendors and use about 17,000 square feet on the main floor and a mezzanine. Vendors have their own booth space and independently own and operate their own business/store, all within a larger store that handles all of the sales, bookkeeping, etc. leaving each vendor free to enjoy the fun part of owning one’s own business; shopping and decorating.

Our eclectic blend of Antiques, Vintage, Home Décor, Art, Primitives & Fashion has been a success. There truly is something for everyone to enjoy and you can always find timeless gifts at Antiques, Art & Collectibles Mall.

Our customers comment on how different we are from other antique stores, not dark and stuffy, but light, roomy, and comfortable.

Knox Pitts Hardware was at our location since I was old enough to remember. Growing up I spent many hours there with my Granddaddy, Herbert McCall. My Grandmother, Sue Frazier McCall, and Mildred Streeter (Knox) Pitts’ mother were sisters. With a family connection and time spent at Knox Pitts while growing up, I feel very much at home in our Antique Mall.

There is a large warehouse in the back of the Antique Mall that once housed a harness company and is part of the Mall.

In the 1940s McDonald Furniture was at our location. My mother remembers buying their first waterfall bedroom suite there.

Before that, in the 1930s, Hoover Furniture and Undertaker occupied our building.Local historian, Garland King, told us that Hoover Furniture made and sold caskets and the embalming and wakes were in homes. His collection included Hoover’s portable embalming equipment.

Over the years some of our workers and vendors report they have seen elegant ladies dressed in period attire in our Antique Mall. But, they are friendly “ghosts” of the past that enjoy quality furniture in a relaxing atmosphere.

Hope to see you real soon at the ANTIQUES, ART and COLLECTIBLES Mall !
